LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — If you're looking for something for your child to do over summer break, the City of Lima’s Summer Playground Program might be the perfect fit.
Registration for the annual program begins Tuesday, May 20, with extended office hours at the Lima Parks Department. Parents can sign their children up at the department’s office in the City Garage on Collett Street from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on May 20 and 21. The program offers a full summer of activities for children ages 6 to 12, including games, outdoor play, crafts, and learning experiences.

“We do lots of different activities, from field trips to guest speakers, science experiments, arts and crafts — all those types of things — to just even getting them outside and playing on the playground and running around and enjoying nature,” said Lima Recreation Leader Kelsey Pughsley.
The program runs Monday through Friday, June 9 through August 1, at Faurot Park. Daily hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The fee for the program is $50 for students who attend school within Lima city limits and $60 for those who live outside the city. Lunch is included in the cost.
