LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – Cookies are a sweet treat, especially when you are helping the United Way of Greater Lima when you buy them.

The Lewis Family McDonald’s presented a check for $3,750 to the organization, which was raised during two weeks of cookie sales earlier this month. One hundred percent of the cookie sales from the Lima, Beaverdam and Delphos locations were donated to assist the United Way with its fundraising efforts.

“Actually, for the campaign, it's great. Every little bit that the community can help us with is appreciated. With the economy and everything, campaigns keep going down. They've gone down considerably. So, we try and work with the community, and thank God they work with us, because that helps us tremendously with our campaign, so that we can give those dollars out to the agencies that have the programs that we support,” says Erin Hardesty, president and CEO of United Way of Greater Lima.

“Behalf of Lewis Family McDonald's, we're just very excited to be able to participate in the United Way every year. Their mission really playing in with children and families is exactly where our hearts are here at Lewis family McDonald's. So, it's just an awesome way for us to continue to partner with United Way and give back to the communities,” says Jessica Hall, owner/operator of Lewis Family McDonald’s.
