FINDLAY, Ohio (WLIO) — Two people were killed and another seriously injured after a medical emergency led to a crash in Findlay on Tuesday.
According to Findlay police, Devante McBeth. 30, and Breanna Garvey, 31, both of Fostoria, died in the crash at North Blanchard Street and Chystal Avenue just before 2:30 p.m.
Officers say McBeth was driving on Blanchard Street when he experienced a medical emergency, causing the vehicle to accelerate at a high rate of speed.
Passenger, Christopher Hook, 38, also of Fostoria, grabbed the steering wheel but was unable to control the vehicle. The car then struck a parked vehicle, a utility pole and a tree.
McBeth and Garvey were pronounced dead at the scene. Hook was transported to a hospital with serious injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
