LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Does coffee really stunt your growth? The Lima Public Library helped some people find out the truth and more as they explored whether old wives' tales passed down through generations are actually true. Popular questions included whether carrots improve eyesight, if crossing your eyes can make them stay that way, and whether cracking your knuckles causes arthritis. This is just one of the many programs and events the library offers to the community.
"We don't care who you are, whether you have a card, whether you don't, whether you're from Lima, whether you're new to the area. Come in and check us out. We have something for adults, kids, teens, multi-age programming, outreaches. We will do about anything once. And we really do want to see people come in and use their space. This is a community space, and we want to be responsive and provide something for everybody. And I think most of the time, we do a pretty good job of that. We have a lot on offer," said Melody Yoder, librarian with the Lima Public Library.
The next Lima Public Library event is “Would You Be My Snail-entine?” for children ages 6 to 12. It will be held Friday, February 13, at 9 am.
