LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - Lima Memorial Health System honored those dedicated individuals who have volunteered countless hours at the hospital.
These milestones ranged from 250 hours to as many as 28,000 hours.
At the 2025 Volunteer Recognition and Awards Banquet, dozens of Lima Memorial volunteers were recognized for achieving various milestones in volunteer hours. These milestones ranged from 250 hours to as many as 28,000 hours. More than 130 people volunteer at Lima Memorial, and hospital administration says they could not do what they do without their help.
“They're the face of the hospital. They're the greeters as you come in the door. They do a lot of transporting. They do a lot of work that we don't have to hire people to do because they take care of the volunteer side of things. They do the gift shop. We couldn't do it without them in terms of running the hospital,” says Mike Swick, CEO, Lima Memorial Health System.
Volunteer Charles Good reached 10,000 hours at the visitor information desk. Today, we asked him what some of the reasons are that he volunteers.
“I want to give back to my community- that's the reason I do it, just helping people, making life pleasant, contributing to my community,” says Charles Good, volunteered for 10,000 hours at LMHS.
