HARROD, Ohio (WLIO) - A beloved Allen County festival made its annual return on Friday. The 35th Harrod Pork Rind Festival kicked off, bringing people from several states to the village.

Fresh pork rinds were being fried on-site as festivalgoers quickly snatched up bags. A variety of food vendors lined the streets offering classic fair foods. The festival also featured live entertainment, games for kids, bounce houses, and many other events for all to enjoy.

"This event is huge for our community. Brings everybody together, kind of the start of summer. It's a great way for everybody to come see each other and just hang out, have some good food and some great entertainment. The community is such a huge support for us. You know, they come out in droves and support this festival. They come out and support the town. That's what this event is actually supposed to be about," said Kyle Hawk, festival president.

The festival will continue Saturday starting at 10 a.m. Events include the parade, cruise-in car show, and kiddie tractor pull.
