Here are some of the programs and events being offered by the Johnny Appleseed Park District for the month of July!
AMPHITHEATER PROGRAM
On Sat., July 25, The Johnny Appleseed Park District will host MIKE HEMMELGARN and the group SERENADE EVENTS at the OTTAWA METRO PARK – AMPHITHEATER (2632 Ada Rd., Lima, OH).
Entertainment will begin with Mike Hemmelgarn at 11:00 a.m. Get ready for comedy, juggling, ventriloquism and more for a family fun-filled time! We then will offer a unique instrumental string trio with Serenade Events at 7:00 p.m. Join us as we gather in nature and take in this beautiful music.
NATURE BY BOAT!
THE JOHNNY APPLESEED PARK DISTRICT will offer NATURE BY BOAT! On Sat., July 25 at 9 a.m. at the AGERTER ROAD RIVER ACCESS (10410 Agerter Rd., Spencerville, OH).
Let’s kayak together on the Auglaize River to appreciate nature on the water. From herons, to turtles, you never know what you might find when you get outside to kayak! Each kayak hold a maximum on one person per boat. This experience is designed for guests ages 13 and older; participants under 18 must have a registered parent or guardian participating in the program.
All participants must have previous kayaking experience. Prepare for the weather, bring snacks, drinking water, and sunscreen. Register by July 23 online at www.jampd.com or by calling the Park office at 419-221-1232.
IMAGINATURE PLAYGROUP
On Tues., July 28 at 10:00 a.m. OR 1:00 p.m., THE JOHNNY APPLESEED METROPOLITAN PARK DISTRICT will offer IMAGINATURE PLAYGROUP at HERMON WOODLANDS METRO PARK (485 N. Wapak Rd., Elida, OH).
Come play with us at the Hermon Woodlands Imaginature Playscape! Join a Naturalist at the West Shelter for a mini program, then spend the rest of the time playing and exploring in the playscape and creek. Feel free to pack a picnic lunch and extra shoes and/or clothes for the ride home!
Register by July 26 online at www.jampd.com or by calling the Park office at 419-221-1232. Once registered, meet at the West Shelter on July 28.
