LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — A Lima city councilman is reminding residents that motor vehicles, including recreational vehicles (RVs), trailers, and mobile homes, are not allowed to be parked outside residential homes or on residential property that does not belong to the vehicle owner.

6th Ward Councilman Derry Glenn said his office has received complaints from residents about RVs and trailer homes being parked on curbs or on private property in violation of city ordinance. Residents have expressed concerns about people living in RVs parked on their property.

"They had a meeting the other night; lots of people in the neighborhood are very upset about it - enough is enough," Glenn said. "This trailer was here for three months, and they (trailer owner) just picked it up yesterday. These neighbors shouldn't have to deal with that trailer being here. It's terrible. It's taking property value down. These people in this ward, are trying to live. The sixth ward wants to live right, just like everybody, every other ward."

Councilman Glenn explained that the city's ordinance, which was amended in January, clearly prohibits such parking. Glenn added he will continue to monitor the situation and reminded residents that violators of the ordinance could face fines or other penalties.
