LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Lima Mayor Sharetta Smith and her administration are continuing to get their steps in as they walk through another ward, listening to residents' concerns.
Tuesday's walk marked the first time the city has offered a noon-hour "Walking the Wards" event, providing residents with a different time of day to meet with the mayor and her team. Since April, Smith and her administration have been out in neighborhoods regularly, working to address issues raised by residents.
“We’re hearing from residents about needing more curbs, more street paving, as well as lighting,” Smith said. “That’s an ongoing discussion we’re having in the city about how we can use our existing resources to be able to deliver those necessities to our neighborhoods.”

This is the fourth year for the mayor’s "Walking the Wards" initiative, and Smith said she plans to continue the effort to maintain strong connections with Lima residents.
