Lima Senior High School recognize top academic students at Honors Banquet

LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Lima Senior High School recognizing its top academic students at the school's Honors Banquet Wednesday evening.

Students who made the honor roll all three quarters were on hand to receive a pat on the back for their high academic performance throughout the school year. One student from each grade level received top awards in math, social studies, science, language arts, foreign language, art, and music. In the closing moments of the ceremony, one junior and one senior received career tech awards.

"This is a way for them to be recognized for all their hard work in the classroom, and also for those who made their way to school every day on time this year. Just being able to welcome the families into the building to celebrate their young people with us, and also to see the students who receive the departmental awards as well," added Darnell Collins, Principal at Lima Senior High School.

During last night’s (May 14) Honors Banquet at Lima Senior High School, top academic honors where presented to students at each grade level from each department.

 Teachers in each department decide on the award winners. Students did not know they were getting the awards until the program. 

The following were honored. They are listed in order from freshman to senior. 

English: Thama Etienne Thermidor, Shannon Delph, Deanna Callahan, Cameron Hemmer 

Math: Paige Sullivan, Evan Ketterer, A’Najiah Harris, James Brown III 

Social Studies: Saniya Wadley, Josiah Phillips, Kervens Jean, Anari Watts 

Science: Brianna Alford, Noah Talbert, Neshna Jean, Keasia Jones 

Spanish: Cheyenne Osborn,Natalie Quintero 

French: Ian Snobeck, Abigail Antus 

Career Tech: Alyssa Merriman (junior), Ethan Hughes (senior) 

Art: Rose Lawrence, Jameson Emerick, Ali Weber, Abigail Antus 

Music: Somiala Johnson, Reggie Jones, Isaiah Johnson, Rachel Fronzaglia
