LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - With more than 8 inches of snow falling from Saturday to late last night, the city of Lima is still working to dig out.

Street crews have been out around the clock since the snow started to fall. Main roads are plowed with many down to pavement while some side roads still need cleared. They had 10 trucks out for most of that time and still had difficulty keeping up with the snowfall. Once they had main streets cleared and headed into neighborhoods, the snow would intensify and they had to head back to main routes. They break the city into 5 sections with specific areas covered first.

"Main roads, usually around hospitals, state routes, the highways. we get those first, and then once we get those opened up, and then we'll start in our residentials," states Eric Beebe, City of Lima Street Supervisor.

The City Of Lima is responsible for 150 linier miles within the city. Winter weather increases dramatically because of all the passes they needed to make on the roadways.
