Local program brings music, games, and joy to developmental disabilities clients

LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – A local business is continuing its promise to give back to the Lima-Allen County community.

The Freshnfaded "Team Outreach Lima" recently hosted a fun day for dozens of individuals to relax and enjoy themselves. The group partnered with the Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities, which brought nearly 50 clients who got the chance to dance, sing, play bingo, and eat. Most importantly, the event offered attendees an opportunity to just be themselves and have fun.

Greg Cattell, participating in the event, said, “Oh, I love it here. Does it make you happy? Yeah, my friends came, so.”

Kathleen Babb added, “It feels good, because you can get out and socialize with people, you know, and you can, if you want to, you can dance to the music and just kind of mingle and have fun.”

Leandra Johnson, co-director of Freshnfaded "Team Outreach Lima", said, “It means everything to me. It shows unity. It shows community, just to be able to give them some place to come and have fun and be themselves.”

Freshnfaded "Team Outreach Lima" has partnered on several programs with both the Allen County Board of Developmental Disabilities and the Allen County Council on Aging.
