ALLEN COUNTY, Ohio (WLIO) – If you’re looking for something to do this Saturday, head to Johnny Appleseed Parks. The organizers of the Rebel Run Car Show have moved the nearly 50-year-old event to Ottawa Metro Park on Ada Road.

There is a cost to enter a car in the show, but admission is free for visitors. Food trucks and other activities will also be part of the event.

For the park district, the car show is a new type of event, but officials are excited to host enthusiasts showcasing classic and custom cars.

“We haven't done anything like this in the past that I'm aware of. So it's really, it's a nice opportunity. We're bringing people to the park that don't normally come to the park, maybe, and, yeah, it just kind of gives us some some notice around the county that may not otherwise be there,” said Myles Cartwright, deputy director of the Johnny Appleseed Metro Park District.

For those looking to enjoy nature, the park district’s Walk Through Autumn is in its second week and will take place at Motter Metro Park in Bluffton on Sept. 13. The program gives participants the chance to explore parks throughout Allen County.

“You hit eight different parks, there's 30 plus miles of trails that we're going to walk. If you complete eight of the six, you get a medallion for your walking stick, and to start it off, we usually have donuts, so get a little sugar to help you through the hike,” Cartwright added.
