August 11, 2025, Press Release from the City of Lima:
The City of Lima will continue Phase 2 of the Downtown Streetscaping Project along Central Avenue, with upcoming work expected to impact traffic throughout the week of August 12–15, 2025.
Scheduled Work and Traffic Impacts:
- August 12–15: A partial lane closure will be in place at the intersection of Elm Street and Central Avenue to accommodate curb replacement and flatwork.
- August 14: Intersection closures will begin along Central Avenue from Wayne Street heading south to Elm Street. This will allow paving crews to mill and pave intersections up to the surface layer of asphalt.
Motorists should plan for delays, follow posted detours, and exercise caution when traveling in these areas. Access to local businesses and residences will be maintained, but alternate routes are encouraged when possible.
These improvements are part of the City’s ongoing efforts to enhance the safety, accessibility, and appearance of the downtown corridor.
