LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - One of the first signs of summer isn't just warm weather, but ice cream.
The Whippy Dip is the first seasonal ice cream shop to open in Lima, starting February 18th. This shows a sign of hope for summer and changing weather. Although it is only February, the warmer temperatures call for seasonal snacks. Not only is the Whippy Dip open, but this is their 20th anniversary of being open in Lima. With this big anniversary, they knew they'd have to open sooner rather than later.
"We're the first ones that open up for the year in this area. So, it's pretty exciting to be able to open up in February, and everybody's excited to come," says Linda Mooney, Owner of whippy Dip.
She also adds that since their opening day was the warmest of the week, with a high of 66, it created the "perfect storm" for more ice cream in customers' hands. For operating hours, check out the Whippy Dip's Facebook page.
