LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) - A local food pantry is getting a boost thanks to a donation from Trilogy Health Services.

Associates at Springview Manor presented a $1,200 check to the Bread of Life Food Pantry after raising the money through a holiday basket raffle held in December. Springview Manor is part of Trilogy Health Services, which emphasizes the importance of supporting the communities where its facilities are located.

The Bread of Life Food Pantry operates out of St. Marks Methodist Church and served more than 2,000 people last year. Organizers say the donation will make a meaningful impact on those who rely on the pantry’s services.

Pastor Ted Bible of St. Marks Methodist Church said the funds will help expand the quality of food available to families and individuals.

“This kind of donation goes a long way to help provide not just the bare necessities but some nice value added kind of food products for individuals who come into our pantry, which is really important.”

Bryanne Lee, interim executive director of Springview Manor, said community involvement is a core value for Trilogy Health Services.

“They always just want us to be partners with our community that we're serving. So not just our own building, but our area, community in the city.”

Lee said Springview Manor plans to host the holiday gift basket raffle again this year to continue supporting local needs.
