The 2016 Women’s Soccer National Championship team headlines the class as the first team to ever be inducted into the Hall of Fame. They put together a campaign with just three blemishes in 26 matches (23-2-1) earning seven wins over ranked opponents that included a 1-0 victory over the No. 1 team in country, Spring Arbor, to lift the Red Banner.
The six individuals who will also join the Hall of Fame include John Schreiber (baseball), Amanda Francis Gross (women’s basketball), Meagan (Enyart) Horstman (volleyball), Klara Cahynova (women’s soccer), Daniel Rueda (men’s tennis) and Chris Adams (Athletic Director/men’s basketball coach).
“We are incredibly excited to revive this proud tradition and announce our first Athletic Hall of Fame class in over a decade,” stated UNOH Director of Athletics Jen Dervarics. “These inductees represent the very best of our athletic history. Their achievement, character and impact have left a lasting legacy. It’s an honor to recognize them and inspire future generations of athletes to continue our rich tradition of excellence.”
John Schreiber played baseball for UNOH from 2014-16 and still holds the career record for Saves and Games Finished as well marking the lowest single season ERA (0.65) that continues to stand today. He was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in 2016 and made his major league debut on August 9, 2019 becoming the first Racer to break into the top level of baseball. Currently, Schreiber continues his professional career as a relief pitcher for the Kansas City Royals.
Amanda Francis Gross was a member of the UNOH women’s basketball program from 2008-12 and continues to sit first or second in 13 different career statistical categories. She was the program’s first ever All-American mention and a four-time all-conference selection.
Meagan (Enyart) Horstman played volleyball for the Racers from 2008-11 and continues as the most prolific frontline player in program history. She holds career records for Kills, Hitting Percentage, Solo Blocks, Block Assists, Total Blocks, Blocks per Set and Total Points. Enyart earned two All-America Honorable Mentions and was named all-conference all four years.
Klara Cahynova was a part of the 2016 Women’s Soccer National Championship team playing for UNOH from 2014-16. She remains the program’s only player to earn NAIA All-Tournament honors twice and was named NAIA Player of the Year in 2016. Cahynova was a three time All-American and First Team All-WHAC selection for the Racers.
Daniel Rueda led the men’s tennis program from 2012-16 boasting a 158-44 (.782) overall record while picking up four All-American and four WHAC Player of the Year honors. Between singles and doubles, Rueda earned eight all-conference selections winning the ITA Regional Championship three times in doubles and twice in singles being named ITA National Player of the Year in 2016.
Chris Adams rounds out the 2026 class of Hall of Fame inductees for his role as Athletic Director and coach at UNOH. Adams was the driving force behind the university’s return of athletics beginning with basketball before growing the department to 14 sports. Under Adams, UNOH won 31 regular season conference championships and 30 tournament championships including the only basketball championship as a coach for either the men’s or women’s programs in the 2014-15 season.
These seven inductees will be officially accepted into the Hall of Fame with a banquet on Friday, January 16, 2026 with an honor ceremony to take place as part of the women’s and men’s basketball doubleheader versus Rochester Christian on Saturday, January 17.
