LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) – The West Ohio Food Bank is expressing gratitude to Lima and the surrounding communities for their ongoing support.
The food bank, which serves an 11-county area, relies on the generosity of local residents and organizations to help provide food and resources to families in need. This Saturday, the West Ohio Food Bank will host a Family Fun Fest in its parking lot as a way to give back to the community. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is free for the whole family.
WOFB Program Coordinator Shelly Neeley said, “They do so much for us and they support the food bank to be able to have us be able to provide back to them for as much as they give and support that allows us to give the support to the families and those who may need it at the time when they need.”
In addition to games and activities, the event will feature a chili cook-off fundraiser. Entry for the competition is $10, with prizes awarded for first, second and third place. Organizers say the Family Fun Fest is a simple way to thank the community that helps make their mission possible.
