LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — With the cold weather affecting many households, the West Ohio Community Action Partnership (WOCAP) is urging eligible residents to take advantage of the Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP) program.
The PIPP program helps eligible individuals manage their energy bills. To qualify, your income must fall within 175% of the federal poverty level. For example, a family of four with a total yearly income of up to $54,600 could be eligible for assistance.

“It’s so helpful because every winter, it seems like there’s a surprise — a bill that’s just astronomical, really, compared to what you’ve paid the rest of the year, because it’s so cold and you’ve used so much heat,” said Kris Keller, community services director at WOCAP. “Having that consistent amount, no matter what your usage is, is a great benefit for low-income families.”
Both homeowners and renters are eligible for the program. To learn more about the PIPP program, visit WOCAP.org.
