What better way to kick off Career Tech Education Month, than touring the brand new wings of the Apollo Career Center. Apollo Career Center showcased their progress Thursday night to local boards of education. School boards got an update from Superintendent Judy Wells on the progress of the seven phase construction and renovation. The event was held to thank Apollo's 11 member school boards for their dedication to public education. The renovations are 80 percent complete. The $53 million project will double the size of Apollo in the 2.5 years it will take to complete. The tour included classrooms, labs, advanced manufacturing, health sciences, auto technician, auto collision, carpentry and building maintenance. The culinary arts academy is still under construction, along with the adult education facilities, but they are ahead of schedule. By September all construction should be completed. Apollo will hold a grand opening for the community on September 29th from 4 to 6 p.m.
