Board members from Apollo's partner schools were invited to the All-Area Boards Meeting to show appreciation for their work. The annual banquet is also an opportunity to honor outstanding students and alumni. The work of school boards often goes unnoticed, but they play an important role in shaping the education of all of our young people, Apollo students or not.

"Board members set direction for the school district in terms of policy primarily, but it's a thankless position at times, and this is one opportunity for us to give them thanks," explained Keith Horner, Apollo's superintendent.

Springview Manor was also presented the honor of Employer of the Year for all the training they provide to Apollo students.

"We actually offer a very diverse array of employment opportunities for high school students, college students. Anything from working in our culinary department, housekeeping, we have activities and life enrichment, to a more clinical side of things of being with nursing and working as a state-tested nursing assistant," said Shanna Barns, the executive director of Springview Manor.
