Applications for absentee ballots to be mailed out by Secretary of State's Office

With just around two months left before the November election, applications for absentee ballots will soon be in the mail.

The Ohio Secretary of State's Office will mail an absentee ballot application to all registered voters in Ohio that is in "active" or "confirmation" status. Additional information including the voter's day of birth, a form of identification, and an alternation mailing address will be needed to fill out the application. Those with the Allen County Board of Elections say that filling out the application should be done sooner rather than later.

"The sooner you apply for your absentee ballot, the sooner will get it mailed out, and the more time you have to get it back to us," said Kathy Meyer, director of the Allen County Board of Elections. "We all know the mail will tell you it takes five to eight days to get a first class piece of mail to you from anyone, and we want to make sure that you get your ballot and can get it back to us."

In-person voting for the election begins on October 10th, the last day to register to vote is October 9th.
