One of the first programs to be held at the Allen County Council on Aging is the annual Sweaters for Seniors event.
Assisted by HCF Management, the Allen County Council on Aging collected around 300 sweaters to hand out to seniors in need of a little warmth this winter. The program offers a little more independence for seniors so that they do not have to worry about having to go somewhere other than their own homes to be warm.
"What it does for the seniors is it kind of gives them a little bit of a way to say I can stay in my house, I can be warm here, I don't have to turn up the temperature so loud, so much, and be able to be toasty where they are," said Daniel Lee, HCF Management Community Marketing Coordinator.
Whatever is left over after Thursday will go to the Auglaize County Council on Aging for them to distribute.
