ST. MARYS, Ohio (WLIO) - St. Mary's City Council were back at it following the holiday weekend.

One of the items on Tuesday's agenda centered around setting money aside for a major demolition project. Council members held a second reading for a resolution that would approve an application to the Ohio Department of Development for some revolving loan funds. After the meeting, St. Marys Mayor Joe Hurlburt discussed how the city plans to use the money.

"We're basically going to use that as part of the revolving loan fund. It's an amount of about $300,000 that will be used to take down the old city building, said Hurlburt. Then hopefully, we got plans in the works that we'll be able to replace that and put something there that will be beneficial to the community."

The third reading for the revolving loan fund dollars is scheduled for the next council meeting on June 9th.
