AUGLAIZE CO. (WLIO) – UPDATED STORY A two-vehicle crash in Auglaize County sends three to the hospital with serious injuries.
State troopers say the crash happened just after one thirty at the intersection of State Route 67 and Wrestle Creek Road.
Fifty-one-year-old Don Burns from Lima was heading south on Wrestle Creek when he failed to stop at the stop sign and was hit by a pickup driven by 48-year-old Christopher Hedges of Lima.
The car flipped over, and troopers say that Burns and his two passengers were ejected from the car. All were taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Troopers say none of them were wearing seatbelts.
Hedges was not hurt.
The crash remains under investigation.

Wapakoneta - The Wapakoneta Post of tlie Ohio State Highway Patrol investigated a serious injury crash involving two vehicles on April 28,2025, at approximately 1:34 p.m. in Auglaize County, Ohio. The crash occurred at the intersection of State Route 67 and Wrestle Creek Road in Union Township.
Don Burns, age 51, of Lima, Ohio was operating a 2001 Buick LeSabre traveling southbound on Wrestle Creek Road when he failed to stop at a stop sign and was struck by a Ram 2500 truck operated by Christopher Hedges, age 48 of Lima.
After being struck, the Buick LeSabre traveled off the left side of the roadway and overturned. The investigation revealed that the occupants of the Buick LeSabre were not wearing seat belts and were ejected from the vehicle. Passengers in the Buick LeSabre were Lyric Simpson, age 26 of Lima, and Daniel Sparkrnan, age 42 of Lima.
Mr. Burns was transported to Saint Rita's Medical Center with serious injuries. Ms. Simpson was transported to Lima Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. Mr. Sparkman was transported to Lima Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. All occupants of the Buick are in stable condition. Mr. Hedges reported no injuries.
Alcohol and drugs were not a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
The Auglaize County Sheriff's Office, Wapakoneta Fire Department, Uniopolis Police Department and EMS, St. Johns EMS, and Wayne Township EMS assisted on scene.

Just before 2 p.m. Monday, first responders were called to the intersection of State Route 67 and Wrestle Creek Road. According to scanner traffic, one person was ejected from their vehicle.
Two people were transported to the hospital with suspected serious injuries. The third had non-life-threatening injuries.
