LIMA, Ohio (WLIO) — Caring for a loved one with dementia can be difficult, but having a strong support system can make a difference. The Bradfield Community Center, in partnership with the Alzheimer's Association of Northwest Ohio, is offering a caregiver support group to provide guidance and connection for those navigating the challenges of dementia care.

The group, led by trained facilitators, offers participants the opportunity to share experiences, discuss challenges, and explore potential solutions with others who understand their struggles. Organizers say the meetings have been beneficial for many caregivers.

“That was very hopeful for me as the facilitator, to see that the support group is helping,” said Tesha Banks, a support group facilitator. “Because they took that suggestion, went home and implemented it with his family, and truly, truly helpful for him. And that was very humbling.”
