The Shawnee Luminary returned for another year of dazzling Christmas displays.
SHAWNEE TOWNSHIP, ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - It was festive and bright throughout several Shawnee Township neighborhoods!
The Shawnee Luminary returned for another year of dazzling Christmas displays. The Indianbrook, Timberfield, and Wildbrook neighborhoods participated with the streets sparkling with glowing candles and houses shining with Christmas lights. There were also Christmas treats and hot chocolate ready for drivers cruising through. Earlier, we spoke with one woman, who has helped out for 11 years, about how this bright night brings joy each Christmas season.

"This is one of the most unique things I've seen. I have lived in Pennsylvania, where we've done this before, and we did it on Christmas Eve... but in a neighborhood like this, I think it's really special. I mean, our neighborhood... it brings everyone out in our neighborhood, and we just get together, and sometimes, this is the only time of the year you talk to your neighbors... and I think that's what's so special," says Mary Kuntz, who helped with the Shawnee Luminary for 11 years.
The Shawnee Luminary also helps out a good cause. Drivers going through donated either canned goods or money to the West Ohio Food Bank. For every dollar raised Tuesday night, that will provide six meals to feed area families.
