LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The City of Lima wants to know what you think about a proposal to redo half a mile of Cable Road.
A public meeting was held Thursday evening to explain the possible changes and get opinions from residents and business owners. If approved, construction would begin in April of 2026 to install a median on Cable Road from Latham Ave. to Windsor Dr., convert a portion of the road from 5 lanes to 3, and add safety measures like sidewalks and new traffic lights.
The city completed a safety study and identified this section of Cable to be several times more dangerous than the average road in Ohio.
"That area had a large percentage of serious injuries from accidents and it also lacks sidewalks and pedestrian facilities," said Ian Kohli, the city engineer for Lima.
