The House's Ukraine investigation will largely center in the intelligence committee and the chairman says they're already reaching out witnesses and planning subpoenas.
Democratic Congressman Adam Schiff from California says more hearings are possible and that the whistleblower wants to testify. Schiff pledges to proceed 'swiftly' but some House Republicans, including 4th District Congressman Jim Jordan, are blasting the whistleblower report as an intelligence community attempt to undercut President Trump.
“I mean, he had no first-hand knowledge, wasn't on the call, and the inspector general even told us that he had a bias against the president. So, I mean that he used the 'indicia of arguable political bias' which is fancy Washington talk for 'this guy was out to get the president'. So his motivation, there's questions there and certainly, he didn't have any first-hand knowledge, and yet the Democrats are going to move ahead with impeachment? After reading that transcript? It's just ridiculous,” explained Congressman Jim Jordan.
Congress is now on a two-week recess but the Democratic-controlled intelligence committee says they'll continue to work through the break.
