Elida Local Schools are one step closer to finding a permanent superintendent. Thursday night the Elida Board of Education met to go into executive session to discuss the appointment of a superintendent. Joel Hatfield is currently serving as interim superintendent after the departure of previous superintendent Tony Cox. Hatfield's term will expire at the end of July 2016. Thursday night they could come to an agreement on a candidate. The board plans to introduce the new superintendent at their next council meeting, if that candidate accepts the position. The board expects the new superintendent to work with the interim starting in June or July in preparation for the new school year.
