The government may be back open for business, but Congress still needs to come up with a solution for funding to avoid another shutdown.
Congress voted to re-open the government early last week by passing a short term funding bill that will allow the government to stay open for just a few more weeks. Ohio Representative Jim Jordan says that a few things will need to be accomplished in order to get things back on track, including making sure that national defense has the funding it needs and figuring out a solid immigration policy.
"Build a border security wall, put a stop to chain migration, get rid of the visa lottery, deal with this crazy sanctuary city policy that’s happening in places around the country - do those things, that’s with the American public elected us to do - and then after you prioritize all of that, then you can focus on the DACA situation as well," said Rep. Jordan.
Congress has until February 8th to find a solution to avoid another government shutdown.
