The Ohio Secretary of State has told the Board of Elections in Ohio to get ready for an August 2nd primary for State House and Senate seats using the third set of maps approved by the Ohio Redistricting Commission. This after a federal court ruling that says Ohio will use the district maps that the commission approved in February. That is despite a ruling by the Ohio Supreme Court that invalidated that set of maps as being an unconstitutional partisan gerrymander. The panel of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio said Friday it acted after no map won the approval of the Ohio Redistricting Commission and the state supreme court. Besides the State House and Senate seats, the August primary will be for the Republican and Democratic Central Committee races. The Secretary of State's office says voters can find their districts for each of the races by logging on to www.voteohio.gov/districts.
