Findlay opens new pickleball courts at Riverside Park

Pickleball is growing in popularity around the country and now the people of Findlay will have a new place to play.

The City of Findlay has repurposed old tennis courts at Riverside Park into new pickleball courts. The project was done in part with a $23,000 grant from AARP. The city hopes the new courts will enhance the community experience at the park for people of all ages and abilities.

"What's nice about it is it's all ages, all abilities can come down and play the game in a great setting included with all of the other activities that we have over at Riverside Park and I just think it's a great addition to the neighborhood," says Mayor Lydia Mihalik. "We're looking forward to people using it."

The pickleball courts could also play a role in bringing more people to Findlay. Mayor Mihalik says that the Flag City Pickleball Club is looking into bringing tournaments to the courts in the future.
