BATH TWP, OHIO (WLIO) - Bath Township firefighters battled a mobile home fire overnight Wednesday.
The 9-1-1 call came for a mobile home fire on Reservoir Road around 1:30 a.m. Firefighters said the home was heavily involved with fire and smoke when they arrived. The owner James Brown said he was able to escape after being alerted by his smoke alarms. Brown received minor injuries that were treated at the scene.
The damage estimate totaled $30,000 dollars and the cause of that fire remains under investigation.
September 27, 2023 Media Release from the Bath Fire Department: Bath Township Fire Department responded to a 9-1-1 report of a mobile home on fire at 1800 Reservoir Road, Lot #12, Lima, Ohio, in Bath Township at 1:36 A.M.
Upon arrival, firefighters found the mobile home heavily involved with fire and smoke showing from the front of the trailer.
The mobile home is owned by James R. Brown who was home at the time of the fire and was able to escape with only minor injuries. He was treated and released by EMS personnel at the scene. Mr. Brown advised fire department officials that he was alerted by his smoke alarms.
Chief Joseph Kitchen estimates the damage to Lot #12 to be $20,000 to the structure and $10,000 to the contents.
No fire department personnel were injured. Lima Fire Department and Perry Twp. EMS assisted at the scene of the fire.
The cause of the fire is undetermined currently and remains under investigation. Firefighters were on the scene for about two hours.
