LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Students at Heir Force Community School made a difference in the community this morning.

Heir Force Community School Food Drive collects over 5,000 canned goods for donation

Heir Force students, along with the school's Builders Club, loaded up a truck with over 5,000 canned goods.

Heir Force students, along with the school's Builders Club, loaded up a truck with over 5,000 canned goods. The food was collected as part of Heir Force's annual food drive, and all donated items will fill the pantry at the Neighborhood Relief Store. After the boxes were loaded up, we talked with one student about how the giving spirit can make such a huge impact in the local community.

"The reason we do this drive is it gets everybody in the school to participate in our community and donate in our community. It will help them a lot so they don't have to focus on buying food for themselves, and they could expand their opportunity with their money," said Cale Hughes, student president of the Builders Club at Heir Force Community School.
