STEM is more than just buzz word at Heir Force Community School as its students attended their third workshop this afternoon.
In partnership with Procter & Gamble, Heir Force Community provides its students with a hands-on learning experience building digital multi-meters alongside local engineers. During the workshop, students were able to take their curriculum outside of the classroom and gain insight into the world of engineering.
"The kids are really getting the opportunity to apply a lot of the things they are learning in their science, mathematics classes in a practical way and I just think it's an opportunity to help them see the content areas they're learning and how applicable it is into the world of work," commented Willie Higgins, executive director of Heir Force Community Schools.
Heir Force Community students will continue attending these workshops throughout the rest of the year.
