LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Some Lima City School children became H2O water superheroes today at a special assembly.

Heritage Elementary School hosts Boonshoft Museum of Discovery

They were learning all about water, including water conservation, properties of water, the water cycle, and aquifers, which provide a great deal of our water in this area.

The Boonshoft Museum of Discovery from Dayton, Ohio, brings some of their educational experience to students at Heritage Elementary School. They were learning all about water, including water conservation, properties of water, the water cycle, and aquifers, which provide a great deal of our water in this area. Boonshoft educators say they enjoy bringing their educational materials to schools.

Samantha Loper is the museum educator and says, “A big part of the education department's mission is outreach and going out to the schools. We know that not every kid can come to us. Especially here in Lima, we’re an hour away, so these kids may not have had the chance to go to Boonshoft and see some of our really cool stuff. So, us being able to come out to the schools really lets us reach a larger community and bring our fun science out to people who live in Ohio.”

Boonshoft was assisted by Lima Senior High School students in the Early Childhood Education program.
