LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Another busy day for Lima firefighters after flames broke out in a house on the east side of town.
The Lima Fire Department was called to 906 East Elm at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday morning. The fire started in the back of the house in a storage room and spread throughout the first story. Flames were spotted coming from the side and back of the house. The occupants of the home were not inside when the fire started but one firefighter was treated for injuries and taken to Lima Memorial Hospital.
There was extensive fire damage to the first floor of the home and water and smoke damage in both the first and second stories of the home. The damage is estimated at around $30,000. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Crews were on the scene for about 3 and a half hours.
