Howard's murder trial scheduled to begin on May 3rd

A Lima teen has only a couple of weeks before he faces a jury for a 2019 murder.

Howard's murder trial scheduled to begin on May 3rd

19-year-old Na'zier Howard pleaded not guilty to the charges of aggravated murder, murder, and having a weapon under disability. This is the third time that Howard was arraigned for the murder of Kevonta Cowan. Since his lawyers have been preparing for the case after the first indictment, they set a trial date for May 3rd. Howard could face a sentence of 20 years to life if he's found guilty of aggravated murder.

Cowan was shot in mid-December of 2019 at a home on Kenilworth Avenue. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Howard is currently in prison serving a 14-year sentence for robbing Hermies Party Shop and Little Caesars in January of 2020.
