A recovery benefit was held in downtown Kenton Sunday afternoon to help the former employees of the restaurant 101 Smokehouse, which was completely destroyed in a fire on July 31st. People could pitch in by buying tickets for 50/50, participating in raffles, and ordering from the Smokehouse food truck. The fundraiser was organized by drivers from Shadybowl Speedway to give back to a business that has helped them.

"A lot of the employees aren't getting work, so that's mainly why I did the benefit—to support them. They sponsor our racecars; they're one of our main sponsors. So we wanted to help them out," said organizer James Werner.Â
Donations are also being accepted on a GoFundMe page.
