ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - A Lima man pleaded guilty to killing two people and injuring another during two separate shootings during one evening in April of 2023.
27-year-old Kenyatta Washington changed his pleas on two counts of murder and one count of felonious assault. Three other charges were dropped as part of the plea deal. In April 2023, Lima police officers found Romelo Blackman and John Dyes shot to death at a home on West McKibben Street. Plus, that same night, Shondale Mayo Junior was found shot at a home on South Roberts Avenue, and he was treated for his injuries. Washington fled to Louisiana but was later arrested and brought back to face charges.
If he gets the maximum sentence on the charges, he will spend around 50 years up to life in prison. Sentencing is set for February 2024.
