Entrepreneurs as young as five years old were given their own section of The Lot to sell their own homemade items.

This week's special theme was "KIDZ IN BIZ." Entrepreneurs as young as five years old were given their own section of The Lot to sell their own homemade items like snacks, jewelry, and decorations. Many of the kids even designed logos, handed out business cards, and have already been to several vendor events before.

The minds behind "It's Dough Time," who designed several mix-your-own play dough kits inspired by things like construction sites and Taylor Swift, hope to see their hard work end up on local store shelves soon.

"It takes a lot of work. We had to make all the play doughs all by ourselves, and we had to wrap them and buy all of the things to put in it. And we made up all of these things to help you create them," explained the team spokesman, 8-year-old George Knippen.

Having their own space at the farmers market helped many of the kids come away with new customer service skills and, more importantly, faith in their own ideas.

"Sewing is something that I always thought I would never get into, and I thought it was going to be something that wasn't for young people. And then I realized that I can actually make fun things out of it and have some fun with it. It makes me feel really good that people want to support that," said 11-year-old Meah Osting, who sells jewelry and headbands with her company, The Cute Cactus.

The Delphos Farmers Market is held on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month at the corner of 5th and Main Streets through August.
