ALLEN COUNTY, OH (WLIO) - Lima residents going out for their morning coffee had the chance to get to know their local law enforcement officers.
Officers from the Allen County Sheriff's Office, Elida and American Township Police Departments, and Allen County SWAT came to Biggby Coffee to chat with citizens. SWAT even brought one of their vehicles for anyone interested in seeing firsthand the equipment they use and learning more about how they operate. Allen County Sheriff Matt Treglia wants people to know these departments appreciate input from the communities they serve.
"We're here at Biggby today, thanks for sponsoring Coffee with a Cop, we're just out here today wanting to meet the citizens of Allen County, come in and enjoy a cup of coffee with us, talk to us, tell us your concerns, tell us what you're seeing in your neighborhoods, anything you'd like to see different. And that's why we do this, we're approachable, you can talk to us about anything, and just come in and have a cup of coffee and let's just sit down and talk one on one," says Treglia.
This is the third year that the Allen County Sheriff's Office has participated in National Coffee with a Cop Day.
