LIMA, OH (WLIO) - Ohio is no stranger to famous people in our country's history, and today 4th graders from Lima City School Liberty Arts Magnet were on stage presenting their projects of famous Ohioans.
4th graders from Lima City School Liberty Arts Magnet were on stage presenting their projects of famous Ohioans.
This year they gave their monologues on the stage in the Joe Henderson Auditorium at Lima Senior. The students picked their Ohioan and did their research for the presentation.
"I chose Thomas Edison, and I learned about all the stuff he invented," stated Cali Sanchez, who researched Thomas Edison. "He invented the light bulb, and he also invented a phonographic machine and a movie projector."
Theatre teacher Joanna Walt says the experience of being on the stage gives the kids a better sense of public speaking and being in front of an audience.
"William White is a player that played in the NFL for the Detroit Lions and the Kansas City Chiefs," said Landon Parkison, who researched William White.
"And was he from Lima?" asked our reporter.
"Yes," replied Parkison.
"What was the best thing you learned about him?" questioned the reporter.
"That he played in the NFL and he fought through ALS," responded Parkison.
