The City of Lima releasing the results of a recent survey into the performance of the Lima Allen County Building Department.

200 customer satisfaction surveys were sent electronically to customers of the department. A response of 20% or 53 surveys were returned, with most of the seven question surveys returned by contractors. 83% of those responding rated the quality of service from the department above average. Two additional surveys were sent to area fire departments and township trustees. Only 1 of the 4 surveys returned by them, were satisfied.

City officials say they will continue to work on customer satisfaction and remind people that their responsibility is to enforce the codes set by the State of Ohio.

County commissioners are still concerned there are issues out there that may affect future economic development and they need to be addressed. The Allen Economic Development Group is going to do a third party independent survey to gather information.

It's anticipated that survey will go out within the next week.
