Lima community gets peak at the culture of potential Sister City

Lima could soon have a new Sister City with the place Mark Twain called older than time itself.

The Lima Sister Cities Association is exploring the possibility of establishing a relationship with Varanasi, India. The community was invited out to Lima Senior for an introduction to the culture of the oldest living city in the world from the facts and figures to the arts. Because of the difference in lifestyle, those involved in the project feel the cities have something unique to offer each other.

"America represents everything new and latest and high-tech," says Dr. Suman Kumar Mishr, a Cridersville doctor who is involved in the project. "Varanasi represents very ancient wisdom, so there'll be a very unique chance to fuse them together and come out with something wonderful."

Representatives from both cities will continue to talk and decide whether or not to makes the Sister City status official on paper.
