Lima Convalescent Home broke ground on a $4.5 million expansion project this afternoon(4/6/18).
On the north side of the facility will be two 9,000 square foot homes called "The Greens at LCH." Each home will have 12 private rooms with private bathrooms. The homes will feature a common area, dining room, large kitchen, and spa. The buildings are designed by Maryland company The Greenhouse House Project. There won't be any long hallways, no medical carts or nurse stations. They are designed like a typical home for long-term care. The project is expected to take one year.
The Green House Project previously built two homes in Bluffton, their only other projects in Ohio.
Mayor David Berger was in attendance and gave a proclamation announcing April 6, 2018, Lima Convalescent and Lochhaven Day.
