A Lima City Councilman is asking the city to step up and address the need for air condition units for those less fortunate.
Dr. Derry Glenn has been collecting air condition units to distribute to Lima residents who are in need of cool air during the hot summer months. A total of around 80 people are expected to be in need of AC units.
"And Lima has been really good in making sure that elderly people are able to stay in their homes and have air conditions," said Glenn. "A lot of these folks cannot afford to get the air conditioning. They can't even buy them used. So I have an 80-year-old, I have an 87-year-old, a 90-year-old... so these are some of the ones that we need it very bad."
