Thursday afternoon, one local organization and Santa himself brought joy and presents to students at Freedom Elementary School.

Children's faces instantly lighting up as Santa and members of the Lima Exchange Club walked into their classrooms with cookies, gifts and Christmas music. The students could not wait to open their goodie bags filled with candy, snacks, toys and other essential items like pencils, toothbrushes, and hats. This event is apart of Lima Exchange Club's Christmas Party for Kids.

"We just want to bring some spirit to the kids in our community," said Sarah Stevenson, member of Lima Exchange Club. "Christmas is a tough time for everybody and it can be a struggle for some families and we just feel like this is an opportunity for us to bring some cheer to the kids of the Lima community."

A total of 250 students received goodie bags today. The Christmas Party for Kids is apart of an annual event that began over 20 years ago.
