The Lima Kiwanis Club reaching out to help those getting back on their feet.
The service club is working with the Ohio District Kiwanis and the Homeless Families Foundation to assist those who have lost their homes due to disasters and are transitioning into new living conditions. A club can pick a “room” to buy supplies to help these families. The Lima Club picked the “kitchen” supplying everything needed to set up the heart of the home. The Kiwanis student K-Club is also getting involved.
Kiwanis member Candy Newland explains, “Our K-Kids at Unity are going to work on the same project. They’re going to pick one of the kits and work locally to gather materials for it. They’ll package them up and will have them ready for our mid-year education day.”
The packages will be sent to the Ohio District Kiwanis to be distributed to families who lost their homes and are rebuilding their lives.
